The director and staff of the Oka- Akoko Community Study Centre, Ondo State, have embarked on an advocacy campaign visit to Ikare- Akoko in the North Senatorial District, North-east Local Government Area of the state.
The director, Dr. Olajide Oyadeyi, who led the team, took the campaign to some places that include: the African Church Diocese of Ikare and Idoani, the Area Commander’s Office of the Nigeria Police Force and the Church of the Diocesan Headquarters of the Church of Nigeria.
Oyadeyi was pleased to introduce and explain what National Open University of Nigeria is about while the audience gave rapt attention to his presentation.
He said “that NOUN is a unique university that is a blessing to all who yearn for a quality education that is accessible, flexible and affordable.”

The director highlighted the various faculties and various programmes offered by the university, adding that the university’s programmes are duly accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
He then implored them to avail themselves, their families, colleagues, and others to take the advantages of NOUN for their benefits and assured them of quality services by the desk officers.
At the end of the meeting, copies of the centre’s hand bills were distributed to the audience and soft copies were also shared to watsapp pages of the Church leaders for further posting into different groups.
At the headquarters of the African Church, Ikare and Ido Ani, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Akinola thanked the team for their visit and said prayers to the university.

At the Nigeria Police Force, the Area Commander, ACP Agboola Abiodun, appreciated the NOUN Oka team for the visit, and for creating educational awareness in the community, assuring them that his officers will enrol for the programme of their choice.
Also at the Anglican Diocese, the Lord Bishop of the Diocese, Rt.Bada also thanked the university for establishing the study centre in the Akoko land, expressing his satisfaction to the director and his team for their timely campaign.
He, therefore, encouraged all the clergy present to take the message to their various congregations and encourage their members to enrol into the university.
