The Vice-Chancellor, Benue State University (BSU), Prof. Tor Joe Iorapuu, has sent a letter of appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Femi Peters, for attending their 18th -21st Combined Convocation Ceremonies and 30th Anniversary Celebration.
The letter, signed by the Vice-Chancellor himself said “I write on behalf of Council, Senate, Staff and Students of the University to express my profound appreciation to you for gracing the 18th -21st Combined Convocation Ceremonies and 30th Anniversary Celebration of our university which climaxed on Saturday 18th February, 2023.”
Iorapuu, in his letter, noted that he appreciated and recognised the time and resources expanded to be present at the events.
“We also acknowledged the security risk and journey you undertook through the tortuous roads in our country to make it to the university,” the letter stated.
The BSU Vice-Chancellor wished that God Almighty will continue to bless the NOUN VC and keep the university growing in leaps and bound.
During the convocation, Prof. James Alachi and Prof. Fidel O. Okopi represented the NOUN Vice-Chancellor and presented the goodwill message on behalf of the VC.
The goodwill message read “We are aware of the fact that Benue State University is the First State-owned University in Northern Nigeria and Proudly acknowledge the various achievements of the University including its prestigious award by the World Bank on management of food wastages and the enviable performances of its law students globally to mention but a few.
“Your impact on both human and materials development of this Sub-region is noted globally and your research contributions to the academic community is well acknowledged.”
