3. Responsible Adoption of Artificial Intelligence – developing institutional capacity for the ethical and productive use of AI in teaching, research, administration and course-material development.
4. Strengthening Study Centres – improving the quality, distribution, functionality and administrative effectiveness of NOUN study centres through the Directorate of Learner Support Service (DLSS).
5. Staff Welfare and Development – promoting an enabling environment that supports productivity, professional development, health and wellbeing.
6. Student Support and Welfare – strengthening systems that enhance students’ learning experience, health, welfare and access to University services.
7. Health and Emergency Preparedness – strengthening emergency health response and first-aid capacity within the University.

The portfolio of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) includes responsibilities and special assignments relating to:

• University Administration and Governance – supporting effective implementation of administrative policies and Management decisions.
• Study Centre Development and Administration – supporting assessment, development, inspection and improvement of NOUN study centres and promoting their effectiveness nationwide.
• Staff Welfare and Institutional Support – promoting initiatives aimed at improving staff welfare, workplace safety and institutional support systems.
• Student Welfare and Support Systems – supporting initiatives that strengthen student welfare, healthcare access and administrative services.
• Health and Emergency Services – promoting emergency health facilities, first-aid preparedness and appropriate health-support mechanisms across the University.
• Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence – supporting responsible adoption of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies for teaching, research, course-material development and University administration.
• Institutional Partnerships – facilitating appropriate collaborations with government agencies, professional bodies, educational institutions, communities and private-sector organisations.
• Special Committees and Assignments – chairing or participating in committees and strategic assignments as may be directed by the Vice-Chancellor.
• Member, University Management Committee, University Senate and University Governing Council.

Since assuming office, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) has participated in and supported a number of strategic initiatives, including:

• Artificial Intelligence Initiative: Leadership and coordination of initiatives aimed at developing a structured approach to the adoption of Artificial Intelligence within NOUN, including proposals relating to an AI Implementation Committee, institutional AI tools and the development of an AI laboratory to support teaching, research, administration and course-material development.
• Strengthening Study Centres: Participation in initiatives relating to the assessment, establishment, commissioning and strengthening of NOUN study centres, with emphasis on compliance with University guidelines, accessibility and sustainable delivery of Open and Distance Learning.
• Emergency Health Services: Promotion of initiatives aimed at strengthening emergency healthcare and first-aid services for the University community, including proposals for appropriately equipped emergency health facilities across study centres.
• Student Health Insurance: Support for improved implementation and oversight of the Tertiary Institutions Social Health Insurance Programme (TISHIP) to enhance access to healthcare services by NOUN students across the country.
• Student Welfare: Support for the development of institutional mechanisms for strengthening student welfare, representation and engagement within the unique Open and Distance Learning structure of NOUN.
• Integrated Information Systems: Advocacy for stronger integration of University digital platforms and administrative information systems to improve efficiency, information management and service delivery.
• Academic Programme Development: Support for initiatives aimed at expanding academic opportunities, including processes associated with strengthening undergraduate health-science programmes and the development of emerging areas of study such as Community Health. Similarly, he is involved in postgraduate teaching and research.
• Institutional Partnerships: Participation in engagements and collaborations with government institutions, professional and regulatory bodies, communities and private-sector organisations in support of NOUN’s teaching, research and community-service mandate.
