It is my privilege to serve the National Open University of Nigeria as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).

NOUN occupies a unique position in Nigeria’s higher education system as an institution committed to expanding equitable access to quality university education through Open and Distance Learning. Achieving this mandate requires an administrative system that is efficient, responsive, innovative and supportive of both our staff and students.

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) is therefore committed to strengthening institutional governance, improving administrative efficiency, promoting staff welfare and development, supporting digital transformation, and creating an enabling environment for teaching, research and community service.

Our approach is founded on teamwork, accountability, transparency, innovation and continuous improvement. We will continue to work closely with the Vice-Chancellor, University Management, staff, students and our partners to strengthen NOUN’s position as a leading Open and Distance Learning institution in Africa.

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) supports the Vice-Chancellor in the overall administration and governance of the National Open University of Nigeria.

The Office contributes to the coordination and supervision of administrative activities across the University and facilitates the implementation of policies and decisions of the University’s statutory organs and Management.

Given NOUN’s extensive network of study centres and its national reach, the Office has an important role in promoting effective coordination between the University headquarters, faculties, directorates, departments, units and study centres.
