Abeokuta centre’s visit to Grammar school

The Director, Abeokuta Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr.Olusegun Adeleke Oba-Adenuga, has led some members of staff on a familiarisation tour to Abeokuta Grammar School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta to create more awareness about the activities of the university.

Oba-Adenuga, who appreciated the school for the opportunity, said the purpose of the visit was to bring to the fore the standing of NOUN as an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution that provides academic learning to teachers and students who want to learn at their own pace.

He highlighted some of the programmes the university offers, including the benefits as well as the mode of study to his listeners and urged them to make the right choice during enrolment.

The visiting team was happy to answer questions regarding the level of recognition of the NOUN certification by the state government, to which the director replied that “NOUN is a federal university moderated by the National Universities Commission like any other university in Nigeria. Therefore, our certificate is acceptable by both federal and state ministries and establishments.”

The interaction proved to be positive and productive as the school promised to continue to provide a platform to sensitise their teachers and students about NOUN.
