The Director, Owerri Study Centre, Dr. Theresa Ucheoma Ettu, has organised a 1-day students sensitistion forum at the centre, in Owerri, Imo State.
Ettu, while declaring the forum open, stated that the essence was to inform and educate students about the activities of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
She said that the 2023_1 academic semester is already on top gear and therefore, called on students for prompt and early course and examination registration, adding that delay is dangerous.
On the part of students, the director reiterated the importance of visiting the modified and more robust NOUN website to access information relevant for their academic pursuits.
Concerning the increased tuition fees, Ettu explained that for the past 10 years the NOUN’s fee charges had remained the same and this slight changes are aimed at providing better service delivery to students in terms of website maintenance, organising students examination, among others.
She cautioned them on dangers of giving up their programmes and charged them to be focused and resilient to get to finishing line of their academic pursuit.
Students asked questions on difficult areas, while the centre management provided corresponding answers.
