Dr. Angela Ebele Okpala

Librarian

Dr Angela Ebele Okpala is an Associate Professor in National Open University of Nigeria(NOUN).She started her library career in Kenneth Dike Library, University of Ibadan, Nigeria from 1993-1997. She later was appointed as the Chief Librarian in French Institute for Research in Africa (IFRA) from 2005-2009. She has also served as the Chief Librarian in Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) from 2009-2011. Dr Angela Okpala is a seasoned librarian who has immensely contributed to the field of Librarianship and Literacy through making presentations in Europe, America and Africa. She has several published works in both local and international journals. Her special research interest is in the area of Literacy and reading.

Apart from being an active member of Nigerian Library Association (NLA) and also a member of Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), she is a strong advocate of literacy as she is a member of Reading Association of Nigeria (RAN) and International Reading Association (IRA) now International Literacy Association (ILA).Dr Okpala is a recipient of several awards amongt which is the prestigious Nigerian Selfless Service Award in 2015.
