Students of BSc Nursing, Public Health and M.Sc Public Health of the university have made their seminar presentations at the Special Study Centre for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Kaduna.

The presentations were part of the requirement of courses NSC 418, PHC 305 and M.Sc Public Health.

Eleven groups drawn from Public Health, Nursing Science and M.Sc Public Health presented on various topic of interests that are relevant to the field of their studies.

The presentation for Public Health was strictly carried out under the supervision and facilitation of Prof. Rabi’u Abdulsalam Magaji of the Department of Human Physiology, Faculty of Basic Medical Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

While Dr. Ibrahim Olukoba Audu facilitated and oversaw the presentation for the Nursing Science.

The seminar presentation affected Public Health students of 500 and 300-levels and their M.Sc counterparts, while only 400-level Nursing Science students have made the presentation.

Earlier in his speech, the Director of the Special Study Centre for the Nigerian Air Force, Kaduna, Prof. Nda E. Mundi stated that the importance of seminar presentation cannot be over emphasised.

“It is a mandatory academic requirement for graduation for the students of Public Health and Nursing Science as recommended by the National Universities Commission,” said Mundi.

He explained that the centre used to hold a combined seminar presentation at Kaduna Study Centre due to a less number of students, but their growing number presently enrolled in the courses at the centre made it to stand on its feet and hold its own presentation.

Mundi added that the presentation was not aimed at frustrating students but to serve as an avenue through which more ideas and knowledge are acquired.

In her closing remarks, the Desk Officer of the Faculty of Health Science, Mrs. Bridget Agbor, thanked the management of the centre for ensuring that the seminar was a success.

While thanking the students for the sacrifice and making the exercise a reality, she stated that the faculty is growing as more and more students are enrolling.
