The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters, has said that staffers of the would benefit from the commissioned the Abdalla Uba Adamu Sports Complex located at the university headquarters in Abuja.
Peters stated this on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, while inaugurating the complex at the sports complex playing ground.
The Vice-Chancellor said the new facility would energise and sustain the well-being of staff and the university community at large.
On his part, the former VC, Prof. Abdalla Uba Adamu, who was named after the complex and started the project, stated that the creation of the sports complex was for the purpose of relaxation.
Adamu commended the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peters, for approving the sports complex and its activities.
He also appreciated the Director, Abuja Model Study Centre, Prof. Nebath Tanglang, who is the chairman of the university’s sports committee, for the enthusiastic support in ensuring that the complex was accomplished.
Responding, Prof. Tanglang disclosed that “This is a journey we started in the year 2019, in terms of construction and today it has come to its completion .”
He urged staff to make efficient use of it.
The novelty match lined up between Team NOUN and the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) team could not take effect due to the weather condition.
