The deputy director, Exams and Assessment, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Adeyemi Adedapo, has urged the Directorate of Physical Development, Works and Services (DPDW&S) to work at improving installations and general infrastructure at Benin Study Centre of the university to enhance service delivery.
Adedapo made the call last week as he visited Benin Study Centre for exams monitoring and facility inspection of the centre.
The deputy director, who expressed satisfaction at the wholesome behaviour of students at the centre and the professional manner in which management of the centre was handling the administration of the exams, observed that ventilation was very poor in the exams halls as the fans and air conditioners were not functional.
“The students behaved very maturely and I was satisfied by the way the centre director, Prof. Olubiyi Adewale, marshaled his staff to handle the exams competently; but the fans and the air conditioners were not working,” Adedapo said.
He added that he has interacted with the desk officer of the DPDW&S and hoped that the directorate would do something about those fixtures and installations, including the computer systems in the e-exams halls, before the commencement of the e-exams.
Adedapo also promised to brief his principal, the director, Exams and Assessment, Prof. Olugbenga Ojo, on the state of the exams server at the centre which he observed had some issues.
