The director (l) receiving a plague from the Air Officer Commanding

The Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command (ATC), Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base, Kaduna, Air Vice Marshall N.N. Ananaba has hosted the Director, Special Study Centre for the Nigerian Air Force, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Madu Baba Galadima on a familiarisation tour to his office.

Galadima was recently appointed by the management of the university to steer the leadership of the centre.

The director, who expressed happiness with the visit, said it was for familiarisation purpose as well as introduction to further strengthen the established existing cordial relations between the two parties.

He resubmitted verbal remainder on the centre’s demand earlier made on its relocation to a more befitting environment favourable for learning activities.

Complaints were earlier registered by the centre for its relocation due to the activities carried out at the Mammy Market, which are in no way connected to a learning environment, said Galadima.

The director said he was glad to know that the Air Officer Commanding is a student of the university.

Responding, the Air Officer Commanding, Air Vice Marshall N.N. Ananaba, said he received a similar delegation from the centre and promised to continue the interface with management of the centre.

He stated that most of the officers of the Nigerian Air Force are students of NOUN.

On the relocation request, the Commanding Officer agreed that the centre was supposed to have been located in a favourable environment for staff and students.

He promised to push the centre’s request to the higher layer of authority and maintained that at his level he cannot promise but assured that he will push and advice on the matters arising.

“I am a run-away student but with your encouragement I will see what I could do to return back to the school,” said the Commanding officer.

There were exchange of presentations from both parties and while plague was presented to the director, NOUN souvenir was equally gifted to the Officer Commanding.
