The management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has approved the appointment of Mr. Atiku Sani to spearhead the administration of Hadejia Community Study Centre, Jigawa State.
Sani took over from Abdullahi Musa Ya’u, who was posted to Jos Study Centre.
Reacting to a question by the NOUN News on his appointment as a centre representative of Hadejia Community Study Centre, he thanked the university management for recognizing the potentials in him to spearhead the affairs of the centre.
He described the centre as an infant that needs renaissance in order to reach its full potential of competing with other older and mega centres accross the country.
The new overseer noted that the centre was established in 2021 by the present Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia when he was a senator representing Jigawa North at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.
He assured the university management of efficiency, effectiveness, display of potential and positive attitude in the running of the centre so as to attain the ultimate goal of the university.
He added that this would be achieved with the total guidance and support of the director, Dutse Study Centre, Dr. Tanimu Mahmud, who oversees the affairs of the centre
Moreover, the centre representative, who has since assumed office, has held a series of meetings with all the staff members of the centre to iron out modalities so as to understand the roles, responsibility and to discuss short and long term objectives.
The discussions also aimed at identifying areas of alignment and potential challenges that need attention.
He said with the support of the Dutse centre director, a strong team has been constituted at the centre to carry out massive and rigorous advocacy campaign in and around Hadejia senatorial zone.
The team is to also intimate stakeholders in the zone to ensure that every every individual, irrespective of his or her status in the community, has adequate knowledge and access to the university’s education.
