The advocacy team of the Badagry Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has paid a visit to the General Hospital, Badag, Lagos State, where the team advocated for the need to enrol in the university to the staff and management of the hospital.

The team, led by the centre director, Dr. Julius Eyanuku, was received by the Assistant Chief Hospital Administrator, Mr. Sanusi Taiwo, who briefed the visiting team of the different services the hospital renders to the members of the public.

On his part, the Managing Director of the hospital, Dr. Tunde Bakare, led the way to the Eye Clinic Waiting Area, where a large crowd of over 100 Medical and Non-Medical Staff of different cadres gave audience to the messages of the advocacy explained by the study centre director.

While addressing the audience at the sensitisation programme, Eyanuku spoke on the benefits of enrolling in NOUN which, according to him, include the bagging of the NYSC Exclusion Certificate and are as prestigious as the NYSC/Exemption certificates issued by the same authority.

He also advised them to avail themselves of the NOUN ODL programmes, especially, now that it has been brought to their doorsteps, even as also highlighted the national and international acceptance of NOUN certificate.

While explaining further to his staff, the Managing Director watered down the message of the advocacy team to his personnel and also encouraged them to advance their career prospects by taking advantage of NOUN programmes.

Flyers were handed out and demonstration pictures were taken during the awareness programme.

At the end of the event, the team took pictures with the managing director and some officers of the hospital.
