A former Minister for Health, Prof. Eyitayo Lambo, has donated some office and library furniture to the Isanlu Community Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Yagba-east Local Government Area, Kogi State.
Lambo, who served as minister between 2003 to 2007, is an indigene of the Isanlu community, and has presented the items to the centre as part of his contribution towards solving the dearth of such equipment at the young centre.
The gesture, according to the ex minister in a written letter submitted by his representative, Elder Samuel Omotunde Mesirin, was given “as our token donation” together with his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Esther Lambo.
Another indigene of the community, who asked not to be named, has also supported the centre with a solar power for the director’s office to help in the smooth running of the centre.
This is due to the lack of electricity for year in the town as well as the surrounding communities.
The excited centre director, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence F. Fatimayin, while receiving the items on behalf of the university, expressed her gratitude to the two indigenes of the community for their supports and kind gestures towards the development of the centre.
