The Management of Ikom Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Ikom, Cross River State, has announced the assumption of office of its new Centre Director, Mr. Emmanuel Ifeanyi Onyenebo, on Monday, April 11, 2024.
Until his new appointment, Onyenebo was a Deputy Registrar at Awka Study Centre of the university in Anambra State.
In a release made available to the South-South media office, the management of the centre stated that “It is a pleasure to announce the official assumption of duty of the new Centre Director of NOUN, Ikom Community Study Centre, in the person of Mr. Emmanuel Ifeanyi Onyenebo.”
The new director, who was received by the Centre Overseer, Mr. Ibe Julius Inya, also officially received the documents of the centre to signal his formal assumption of office.
Onyenebo, in his maiden address to staff of the centre, acknowledged the efforts of his predecessor, Associate Professor Edwin Bassey, who has moved to Akwa Ibom State as the new Director of Uyo Study Centre.
He opined that Bassey could not have achieved his enviable feats at Ikom centre without the full support and cooperation of staff of the centre.
The director, therefore, urged the staff to accord him same support and cooperation which Bassey enjoyed to enable him take the centre to the next level.
He also expressed optimism that he and his members of staff would enjoy cordial working relationship as a great family, urging them to put in their best in their service to the university and the nation.
Onyenebo is not a rookie in NOUN system having worked at a number of study centres across the country, including Uyo Study Centre, where he served as an Acting Centre Director between 2017- 2018.
