The Jos Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Plateau State, has received the National Universities Commission’s (NUC) accreditation team for the B.Sc Biology programme.
The centre director, Dr. Philip S. Tachin, who received the visiting team on Monday, November 20, 2023, had fully prepared to host the exercise and made all the necessary arrangements for a seamless process.
Others present to vwelcome the accreditation team were the Head of Department of Biological Science, Dr. Maureen Chukwu, Prof. Sonnie Oniye and Dr. Yisa Abraham Gana.
On their part, the NUC team was led by Prof. Tayo Arulogun, while Prof. Naomi John, Prof. Chris Nwoko, and Mr. Olujimi, the NUC representative, formed part of the entourage.
Tachin, along with other teaching staff present took the officials on a tour of the physical facilities at the centre, before they settled down for the business of the day.
The team requested for various files ,which were made available by the HOD with the support of the faculty desk officer, for their scrutiny.
The chairman of the accreditation team made some few remarks on the physical facilities, saying that the facilities were relatively okay and neat, adding that the restrooms were inadequate, as those for the students were not modern and need upgrade.
