The management of Lagos Study Centre of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 stormed the Lagos Motor Boat Club, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, to pass the advocacy message of the university to the Rotary Club District 911 fellowship and meeting.
The visit, led by the centre director, Dr. Alero Akujobi, was aimed at preaching NOUN and enlightening them about the programmes of NOUN, its flexibility, modus operandi, uniqueness, location of the centre and how it could be accessed.
The university’s mission is to bring education to the doorsteps of every organisation, individual, amongst others, Akujobi added.
The director also stated that “the Rotary Club cannot be disregarded by NOUN due to the significant humanitarian impact they have on our communities and their ability to sponsor those seeking their first degrees.”
Additional benefits of NOUN, she said, include flexibility, barrier-free accessibility, classes conducted online, and strike-free institution.
She also made a pitch to the club members to help people who are keen in studying get their first degree by sponsoring them as NOUN, Akunjobi added, is a very affordable ODL institution.
In his remark, the former president of the Lagos Chambers of Commerce (LCCI), Toki Mabogunje, harped on the benefits of enrolling and studying in NOUN, adding that “the university not only accepts and offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, but also offers PhD programmes.
“My security guard is currently a student of NOUN and studying criminology.”
Mabogunje, who is also a Rotarian, implored colleagues to use NOUN to enrol in classes and improve themselves academically.
