The Director Correctional Service Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Francis Enobore has led a team to the Nigeria Correctional Service Headquarters in Abuja, where they discussed the advocacy messages of the university.

The aim of their visit was to advocate and boost the enrollment of the staff and inmate in the Correctional facilities.

While enumerating the admission offers available in the university, he disclosed that National Diploma (ND) holder’s with lower credit can study the course of their choice with the university.

Enobore said fresh admission seekers with Higher National Diploma (HND), would be admitted into 300 level.

He urged them to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the university to study any programme of their choice with flexible academic programmes.

The director added that inmates in the facilities have also distinguished themselves as some of them are among the best performing students currently running their programmes with the university.

The Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa, represented by the Deputy Controller General in the Directorate of Non-custodial Service, Ahmad Tukur, who received the team, expressed his delight with the university’s review and improvement of its academic programmes.

Tukur reiterated the service’s readiness to key-in to the reforms in line with its mandate to reform, rehabilitate and reintegrate offenders into the society.
