The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), formally NHIS, and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) have held a sensitisation exercise for staff members of the institution.
The programme, which took place on Monday, July 24, 2023, at the NOUN Lagos office, was geared towards helping the university staff understand the scope of the health insurance scheme.
It was also aimed at acquainting them on how best they can access quality healthcare, as they were updated on the workings of the NHIA.
The 1-day event served as an opportunity for representatives of the federal healthcare provider to answer questions and address complaints concerning payment plans, coverage, choice of hospitals, among others.
A Deputy Registrar at the Mushin Study Centre said NHIA was called to assist members of staff with enrollment issues and offer information about primary healthcare providers.
Also present at the exercise were the director of the Lagos Study Centre and the principal officers of the Lagos, Apapa and Mushin Study Centres.
