Dr. Chukwuma and Pastor Nkanta on air during the programme

The director, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Port Harcourt Study Centre, Dr. Nnenna Nancy Chukwuma, has said that NOUN as an institution owned by the federal government of Nigeria does not go on vacation and its admission goes on all year round.

Chukwuma made this assertion during a live discussion programme, Let’s Talk About It, on Treasure 98.5FM, an arm of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024.

Fielding questions from the anchor of the programme, who simply gave her name as Gabriella, the director, who was accompanied by the South-south Regional Media Officer and deputy director, Media and Publicity, Pastor Joel Nkanta, sensitised her audience on various operational areas of the university.

Major areas of discussion on the programme were how NOUN works, admission requirements and process, as well as learning facilities.

Other salient issues discussed included NOUN Law graduates and the Nigerian Law School, NOUN and the National Youth Service Corps scheme, and admission of foreign students, among other things.

It is noteworthy that this live phone-in radio programme, which the centre features in at least once every semester, has proven to be one of the most effective advocacy programmes of the centre as inquirers start making calls for further information right as the programme ends.
