Oforbuike handing over to Nwofor

A former counsellor at the Lokoja Study Centre, Kogi State, Dr.Rosemary Ijeoma Nwofor, has taken over the affairs of Awgu Community Study Centre in Enugu, Enugu State.

Nwofor took over from the immediate-past director of the centre, Dr. Nwachukwu Francis Oforbuike in a brief hand-over ceremony on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the centre.

The new director holds a PhD in Guidance & Counselling from Enugu State University of Science & Technology (ESUT) and is a one-time acting centre director, Awka Study Centre, Anambra State.

The outgoing director, while giving a warm welcome to Nwofor, also eulogized the centre’s staff for their exceptional cooperation, unity of purpose and team play, which he described as factors behind the success story of the centre over the years.

He enjoined the staff to maximally support his successor’s leadership styles and shun the act of gossiping as it destroys the progress of any organisation.

Oforbuike implored them to develop their potentials through hard-work and sheer commitment to duties, thereby allowing the director to discover them by herself.

On the part of the incoming director, she expressed her profound appreciation to her predecessor and the staff for a warm reception extended to her and also acknowledged the presence of a serene and conducive environment for learning.

“Take me as a colleague and as a counsellor and together we may be able to resolve individual and corporate challenges of the centre,” she said.

According to her, hard-work and dedication to duties need to be pursued with vigour and conscientiously for overall benefit of the centre, under the umbrella of family bonds relationships.

She unequivocally reiterated that the management of NOUN frowns at any form of malpractice and advised staff to avoid any temptation of conniving with students or third parties to perpetrate evil, as the culprit would be decisively dealt with.

Nwofor counselled the staff not to leave God in anything they do as “we draw strengths from Him” and, therefore, sought for the maximum cooperation of staff to pilot the affairs of the centre.
