The Director, Oka-Akoko Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Joseph Babajide Oyadeyi has visited the chairman of the Community Leadership Association, Mr. Charles Olorunda, in Abuja.
The director said the reason for his visit was to discuss the need for the community to intervene in developing the study centre.
Oyedayi who had earlier taken the advocacy campaign to the Olubaka of Ibaka, His Royal Highness, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, his council members, dignitaries, and people in the locality, explained the university’s modus operandi to his host.
He also stated that the different programmes the university offers are all accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
He called for the community leader’s support and participate in the subsequent advocacy campaigns.
While speaking to NOUN News, the director said the visit has yielded positive results as the community has taken action in the construction of an access road to the study centre.
