Professor Wilfred N.J Ugwuanyi is a professor of Banking and Finance since 2006, he had his Ph.D in Agricultural Economic (Finance Option) in 2003, MBA Banking and Finance in 1992, PGD Banking and Finance 1990 all from Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT).
He had his advance Diploma in Computer management (Association of Business Executive (ABE) London) in 1985, Diploma in Management ABE London in 1984, certificate in management ABE. Joined ESUT in 1992 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose to the rank of Professor in 2006.
Between 2007 & 2011 he served Enugu State government as Commissioner for Finance, Commissioner for Budget and Planning.
He was the immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, National Open University of Nigeria.
His area of specialization is Financial Institutions and Money Market. He has supervised over 40 M.Sc candidates, over 37 Ph.D candidates in Finance, Insurance and Management at Enugu State University of Science and Technology and National Open University of Nigeria.
He had over 65 Peer-reviewed journals published locally and internationally. He has 4 textbooks to his credit.
He is a visiting professor to CBN/UNN M.Sc, Ph.D programme.
He is also a visiting professor to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki. He has been External Examiner to Department of Finance (Undergraduate and Postgraduate) University of Nigeria Nsukka and other Universities.
