The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters, has approved some series of appointments that see the former Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Wilfred N. Ugwuanyi, assuming office as the new Chairman, Committee of Deans and Directors (CDD), Examination and Assessment (DEA).
“The Committee, which comprises of all the Deans of the several Faculties shall advise the Vice-Chancellor on all academic matters and on particular matters referred to the University Council by the Senate,” a memo dated January 18, 2024 and signed by the Registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi, said.
Also, Prof. Sami M. Ayodele, the immediate-past Centre Director, Abuja Model Study Centre, Dutse Alhaji, will assume office as the new Director, Directorate of Research and Administration of the university.
The appointment conveyed in a memo dated January 18, 2024 and signed by the Registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi, said “This appointment is in addition to your official schedule as Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Sciences,”
On his part, Dr. Lukman K. Bello, will be the new Ag. Director, Directorate of Learning Content Management System (LCMS), according to a memo dated January 18, 2024 and signed by the Registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi.
According to the memo, it said “As the Ag. Director of Learning Content Management System, you shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the Directorate.”
Ms. Dinah D. Abass of the Directorate of Procurement is to assume office as the Director, Directorate of Procurement, while her predecessor, QS. Kazeem O. Onubaiye is to now Head the Procurement at the African Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL).
His appointment was conveyed in a memo dated January 18, 2024 and signed by the Registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi, which added that “As the head procurement (ACETEL), you shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor through the Director, (ACETEL) for all procurement activities in the Directorate.”
All the appointments took effect from January 22, 2024, as the trio of Ugwuanyi, Ayodele and Bello have an initial period of two (2) years and renewable for another term subject to satisfactory performance.
In a related development, Dr. Paul A. Ifeanyi has been recalled from the Special Study Centre for Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Sauka and will now be the Ag. Director in the Registry, according to a memo dated January 18, 2024 and signed by the Registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi.
