The Chairman, Umunumoka Ezeoke Nsu Village, Nsu Autonomous Community, Ehime-Mbano Local Government Area, Imo State, Nze Francis Okereke, on Monday, September 9, 2024 led a delegation of his cabinet to pay a courtesy visit to Nsu Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

Okereke, who was accompanied by his executive members, said that the visit was to familiarise themselves with the modus operandi of the university as well as to give the needed support to the Ag. Centre Director, Dr. John Onyemauche Oparaduru, to enable him take the centre to an enviable height.

While thanking the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, for bringing university education close and in their locality, the chairman also pledged his team’s preparedness towards creating an awareness for the growth of Nsu Centre.

He commended the former Minister of State for Education, Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba and Senator Frank Ibezim, for the role they played in attracting the project to Nsu Community.

The team prayed for the centre’s growth and sustainability as well as soliciting for the university management’s kind consideration to their children for employment opportunities.

In his response, Oparaduru applauded the team’s visit and explained that NOUN is an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution driven by technology, adding that all academic programmes in the university are fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

He reiterated the need for the team to encourage their wards to enrol at the centre based on the standard and quality of education NOUN delivers to its students.

The centre director sought the visitors’ cooperation and support towards ensuring that the university moves forward.

Students are strongly encouraged to complete and submit all their TMAs before the respective closing dates, as the TMAs will no longer be available for submission after these deadlines.
