The Director, Hadejia Community Study Centre, Jigawa State, Mr. Abdullahi Musa Ya’u, said that the centre has continued to record smooth conduct of the ongoing 2023_1 Pen-on-Paper (POP) examination.
Speaking with NOUN News in his office in Hadejia, the director said with the help of the centre staff, coupled with the spirit of good work and attitudinal commitment to the work, huge successes have been recorded.
“Right from the inception of the centre in 2021 to date, the centre has not recorded any major hitches that hindered the administration of examination.
“Therefore, the ongoing examination is going on smoothly without experiencing any problem and the students are cooperating well, respecting the rules and regulations governing the conduct of examination at NOUN,” he said.
Asked about the students enrollment level at the centre, Ya’u said “The number of students is continuing to grow as the centre is attracting more and more students.”
He added that the management of the centre has set up an advocacy committee that was saddled with the responsibility of identifying and reaching out areas they think would yield more clients to the university and boost enrolment level.
“Government establishments like schools, local government authorities, ministries, departments and agencies as well as private businesses were all mapped out for advocacy,” the director said.
Ya’u, therefore, called on the the university management to provide more security personnel to improve on the security strength as the centre operates with only one security personnel and with no any environmental attendant.
This, according to him, necessitated the centre to absorb five ad-hoc staff, for security work and one environmental attendant, as it has no perimeter fencing
He further urged the university management to assist the centre by connecting it to the national grid as the day-to-day operation of the centre relies entirely on generator for power supply.
The director thanked the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, for his innovation and wonderful works that strategically push the university to greater heights.
