With over two decades of unwavering commitment to university administration, Mr. Ajayi has carved a notable career path marked by academic excellence, leadership, and a profound dedication to the institutions he has served.
Educational Background: Mr. Ajayi earned his first degree from the prestigious University of Ibadan, graduating with Second Class Upper Division in Philosophy/Political Science (Combined Honours) in February 1998. He furthered his academic pursuits at the same institution, obtaining a Master’s degree in Managerial Psychology (MMP) in 2005. His academic journey also includes a Professional Diploma in Human Resources Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) in 2014.
Professional Journey: Commencing his administrative career as an Administrative Officer II at Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, Mr. Ajayi played a pivotal role as one of the pioneer staff in the Human Resources Unit. His dedication and competence saw him rise through the ranks, eventually becoming Administrative Officer I, Governing Council/General Administration. In 2006, he joined Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Oyo State, as an Assistant Registrar, Academic Unit. Subsequently, in October 2008, he became part of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) family as a Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR).
Over the years, Mr. Ajayi’s commitment and leadership qualities were evident as he ascended to the position of Principal Assistant Registrar (PAR) in 2012, followed by his elevation to the role of Deputy Registrar in January 2015. His meritorious service culminated in his appointment as the 3rd substantive Registrar of NOUN on September 6, 2022.
Professional Achievements: Prior to his current role, Mr. Ajayi served in various capacities and committees at NOUN, including acting as the Director of the Directorate of Academic Registry. In this role, he effectively coordinated the affairs of the University Senate, Committee of Deans and Directors (CDD), and other standing committees of the Senate, showcasing his adept organizational skills.
Professional Memberships: A respected professional in his field, Mr. Ajayi is a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management, chartered (NIM), an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), and a proud member of the Association of Higher Education Professionals, UK, formerly known as the Association of University Administrators, UK.
Personal Life: Outside of his professional endeavors, Oladipo Ajayi is happily married to Oluwatoyin Elizabeth Ajayi (Nee Omope) and is blessed with three children – Oluwakanyinsola, Omobolanle, and Abimifoluwa.
