The Director, Yenagoa Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Prof. Clifford Amini, has charged students of his centre to embrace the robust online facilitation platform provided by the university to enhance their study and success in their learning efforts.

Amini gave the charge at the students’ forum which he organised for the students of the Yenagoa Study Centre recently in an effort to reach out to the teeming number of students studying at the centre.

He explained that the application of the synchronous and asynchronous online facilitation is a measure put in place deliberately by the university to help students achieve their self-learning seamlessly in the university.

The centre director appealed to the students to shun all forms of examination malpractice in order not to attract the wrath of the law.

He reiterated that he would not tolerate any form of malpractice no matter who is involved: staff or student, even as he strongly warned all members of staff to steer clear of involvement in any form of academic malpractice notwithstanding the possible inducement by students.

At the event which attracted over 150 students, students were briefed on the workings of course registration, course dropping, generating of remita, and exams registration, among other things.

The students expressed their gratitude to the management of the centre for organising the forum.

They were also delighted to welcome the new centre director, while promising to cooperate with him to make Yenagoa Study Centre trouble-free.

Questions raised by the students were satisfactorily answered by the centre director, who also promised to make such events a regular occurrence to enhance management/students interaction and cooperation.
