The Director of Abeokuta Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Olusegun Adeleke Oba-Olusegun together with members of staff have taken the good news about the university to the permanent site of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)in Ogun State.

The advocacy, which visited on Thursdau, March 10, 2022, team was warmly received by the State Commandant, Kolawole Taiwo and his officers, who briefed the visitors on the operations of his command after which the study centre director was called upon to sensitize the officers.

In his opening speech, the director emphasized on the modus operandi of the university that is highly accessible, enhanced in quality education, anchored on social justice, equity, equality and national cohesion.

He stressed his points about the flexibility, functionality and cost-effectiveness, assuring that the University is strike-free academic programmes in different faculties which are NUC accredited.

He added that NOUN has been at the forefront of providing access to quality education and equity in educational opportunities, via Open and Distance Learning, for those who otherwise would have been denied.

The advocacy campaign ended with the Director answering questions satisfactorily from the officers of the NSCDC before the exchange of gifts and a vote of thanks by both institutions.
