Officials of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), North-east Zonal Office,  on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, held a maiden sensitisation exercise on the overview of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to the staff and management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Gombe Study Centre.

The visiting team, led by the Zonal Head, Mr. M.M Zillang, were received by the study centre director, Dr. Adamu Bappah and his management team.

Zillang stated that they were delighted to be at the centre in compliance with the mandate placed by the commission for all zonal offices to create awareness in the various government parastatals and agencies within the region on the corporate activities of the commission.

A paper, titled “Overview of the Contributory Pension Scheme, and was presented by Mr. Bashir Kasim Umar, a NOUN Alumni with Masters in Public Administration.

It was quite an interesting session as NOUN staff were carried along, enlightened and well informed as well as seized the opportunity to ask questions on various issues of concern.

The Zonal Head presented FAQ booklets about the commission, while the Gombe centre director presented NOUN advocacy materials and accessories to the visiting guests, expressing hope that more of PenCom staff enroll into NOUN.
