The duo of Prof. Isaac Butswat, Deputy Vice – Chancellor, (Administration) and Prof. Joy Eyisi , Director, students industrial work experience scheme (SIWES) National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has been bestowed with the Exemplary Participant and Lifelong Learning Award .
The award was conferred to the professors on Thursday , December 1, 2022 at the NOUN Model centre, Victoria Island, Lagos by the Virtual Institute for Capacity Building in Higher Education (VICBHE), under the auspices of the National Universities Commission (NUC) Strategy Advisory Committee.
Presenting the award, the facilitator-General of the institute, Prof. Peter Okebukola said the award was given to the two erudite professors in recognition of their participation and excellence in the rigorous training programmes of the Virtual Institute for Capacity Building in Higher Education (VICBHE) in spite of the high demands and schedule of their offices.
According to Okebukola, the award is also a testament of duo’s desires for lifelong learning and commitment to preparing themselves for relevance in the unknown world of the future.
In his response, the DVC thanked the institute for the recognition and honour.
He said : “I am very happy and find this encouraging. It also serves an as an inspiration to keep doing my best.
“I want to urge those coming behind to continue learning and doing their best, because people are watching and it will determine the kind of recognition you get. *
Meanwhile , NOUN Librarian, Dr. Angela Okpala received the award on behalf of Prof Joy Eyisi who was unavoidably absent.
