The VC and his team at the Abeokuta centre

The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters, and a team of top university officials have visited Abeokuta, Ogun State to celebrate with the former President, Chief Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo on his 87th birthday.

Peters, flanked in the visit by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Chiedu Mafiana; Director, Olusegun Obasanjo Centre for African Studies, Prof. Mojaye Eserinune, and the VC’s Senior Adviser, Mr. Adeboye Adewoyin also visited the Abeokuta Study Centre of the university on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

The Vice-Chancellor said he could not visit Abeokuta without stopping over to check the centre and the staff.

During his discussion, the Peters charged the staff of the centre to be hard-working and creative.

He said “We must know how to manage people and materials and most importantly to increase student enrolment, the reward is based on performance.”

Abeokuta centre's visitThe VC and his team also visited the Science Laboratory Room,and promised to repair part of the leaking roof as well as equip the,rooms in readiness for practicals and accreditation purposes.

He also approved all requirements tabled by the centre with regards to improved electricity supply.

The centre director was full of appreciation to the university management and promised to work harder to make the centre one of the best in the country.
