The director, Emevor Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Emevor, Delta State, Dr. Lucky Amede, recently paid a courtesy visit to the chairman, Isoko North Local Government Council, Delta State, Hon. Achuke Ikpire, at his office in the council secretariat.
Amede, who was accompanied by some of his senior staff, explained to the chairman that he and selected members of his staff were at the council secretariat to pay homage to the chairman.
He seized the opportunity to brief his host on the state of the study centre, which is the only federal university in Isoko North Local Government Area, and prayed him to erect an iron gate as well as providing water supply at the permanent site of the study centre.
Ikpire, who expressed delight at the visit of the NOUN delegation, said he was happy about the presence of the institution in Isoko North Local Government Area, observing that the university has brought federal presence nearer to his people, as well as creating access to tertiary education for the people of Isoko Land in general.
The council chairman commended Amede on the good work he is doing at the study centre. He also pledged to look into the prayers of the centre director with an end to meeting the needs of the centre within the limits of resources available to the council.
