A member of the National Open University of Nigeria’s (NOUN) Governing Council, Mrs. Amina Yusuf Garba Mni, MON, has paid an unofficial visit to Dutse Study Centre, Jigawa State.

Mrs. Garba, who was on a separate engagement at Dutse, was received by Mrs. Hauwa Tijani, an Assistant Registrar,on behalf of the centre director, Dr. Aliyu Musa, who was unavoidably absent due to other official engagement.

Speaking in an interactive session, Mrs.Tijani appreciated the efforts of the council member whom despite her numerous schedules found it necessary to visit the Centre.

She highlighted how academic and non-academic activities are carried out at the Centre.

She further discussed that the staff of the centre were committed to work and upheld that they are ready to overcome any challenges at the Centre.

Mrs. Tijjani further pointed out that one of the topmost priority of the Centre is to ensure rapid growth of students enrollment at the Centre.

And assured that commitment and positive attitude to work shall be the driven force of the Centre.

She outlined some of the challenges facing the Centre which include provision of a befitting structure for the localization of the Centre.

Mrs. Amina Yusuf Garba in her remarks thanked the Centre for the warm reception accorded to her.

She urged the staffers to continue to put in more effort and dedication to duty for service and dedication are esteemed virtues that bring progress to any institution or organization.

She intimated the staff that the Governing Council being the highest policy making body of the university and the Management of the University are putting in all efforts to continue to have increase in the enrollment of students.

Therefore, all hands must be on deck to ensure that the ultimate target goal of the university is achieved.

Mrs. Garba promised to direct all the correspondences of the Centre to the appropriate quarters for proper intervention.

Moreover, she discussed on the need for the Centre to have more female staff preferably the security unit of the Centre, stressing that their presence will be of immense benefit to the large number of female students of the Centre especially when it comes to the screening of students before being admitted in to the examination venue during exam.
