In its drive to achieve the greatest enrollment rate, the Bogoro Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has undertaken a series of activities and visitations to various organisations within the Bauchi State and parts of the Plateau State.

The centre director, Prof. Madugu Simon Yalams, led the campaign team to Kanan and Kanke Local Government Areas of Plateau State, while the Deputy Bursar, Mr. Peter O. Akintola’s team visited Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The teams, in their separate campaigns, sensitised the leadership of the councils on the various academic programmes of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), which are important to the staff of the councils.

While at the Kanan Local Government Council, Prof. Yalams explained the benefits of enrolling and the easy access to quality education and flexible learning process of the university via Open and Distance Learning.

He also explained the uniqueness of the system in terms of flexibility and affordability, as well as the admission processes, various faculties and the convenient stress-free nature of the system.

The teams reaffirmed the mandate of the institution in taking education to the door-step of every organisation, explaining in details how a good and sound education, the officers’ performance will be enhanced.

The director thanked the chairmen for the visits and also commended the leadership of the councils in their efforts to see that the staff further their academic qualifications.

In their reactions, the council chairmen expressed their appreciation for the sensitisation and awareness about NOUN and promised to advocate for the university to attract more enrollment to the centre.

The advocacy drive also visited Government Secondary School, Dengi in Kanam LGA, where they were welcomed by the principal of the school, Mr. Musa Dogo.

The leader of the team, Mr. Peter Akintola, introduced and spelt out the aim of the visit while the principal quickly mobilised members of his staff at their conference room for interactive session.

Series of questions were asked specially with regards to the mode of operations, financial strength, recognition of the certificate etc, and satisfactory answers were provided.

At the end of the session, the principal encouraged and gave his support to the members of staff to enroll and acquire more knowledge as well as to improve on their skills for the betterment of their services.

This is to inform all Study Centre Directors that the 2024_2 TMA will close on Friday 10th January, 2025.

Students are strongly encouraged to complete and submit all their TMAs before the respective closing dates, as the TMAs will no longer be available for submission after these deadlines.

Please ensure that all students are properly informed of these deadlines.
